Boys and Girls Club of Story County

The Boys and Girls Club of Story County Addition and Renovations project demonstrates Woodruff Construction’s dedication to client service and expertise in complex construction environments. Selected as the Construction Manager at Risk from a competitive field of 10 firms, Woodruff’s level of service and commitment to the client set us apart. The project included an 8,000 SF addition and extensive interior renovation, doubling the club’s capacity to serve the children and families of the community. One of they key challenges was the site’s location with an AE Flood Hazard Zone. Woodruff played a crucial role in assisting the design team by identifying and selecting cost-effective flood-proofing systems that met performance standards while saving the client over $50,000 compared to the original design concept. Although unseasonably wet weather initially delayed the project by three weeks, Woodruff’s self-performing structural steel crew accelerated the schedule, bringing the project back o track and now slight ahead. Through expert schedule management and problem-solving, Woodruff ensured timely delivery, demonstrating our ability to meet both the client’s needs and the unique demands of the project site.
