Woodruff Construction has five office locations across Iowa, and we love being a part of our communities!
Our Tiffin office donated several pairs of headphones, markers and folders to Tiffin Elementary School.
Our Ames office partnered up with the Story County Blast Back to School Fair to make sure dozens of students would have the necessary supplies when they head #BackToSchool.
The supplies for this organization are donated by a variety of community businesses, organizations and individuals, then are organized and packed up by volunteers.

Central Region president Grant Reimers presents a donation to Michelle De La Riva, executive director of Community & Family Resources. Funds were raised during our client appreciation golf outing held in June, and Woodruff provided a 100% match.
Community and Family Resources is dedicated to proactively assisting individuals, families, and communities achieve healthy behavior and lifestyle through advocacy, prevention, and treatment of substance abuse, problem gambling, and mental illness.
Woodruff sponsored a golf hole at an outing to support the Spencer Tailtwisters. The group provides funding that benefits the Tiger athletic program!
Shout out to our Ames concrete crew for donating materials & volunteering time to construct a concrete pad for the Webster City Police Department. The pad will used for the needs of Moab, the department's K9 unit, pictured here with his human partner/handler, Officer Brandon Pritchard.
Spencer Woodruff employees helped haul an estimated 30,000 books to get them ready for shoppers for the Spencer Rotary Club’s annual fundraiser.
The Woodruff Spencer team completed the installation of a ceiling liner panel for the Kiwanis building at the Clay County Fairgrounds. This building is used to make and sell cookies and hot beef sundaes during the Clay County Fair, as well as other events throughout the year. The money raised doing this goes toward helping to improve the lives children in the community.
In the spring, Woodruff showed off a mini-excavator to preK-2nd grade students, as part of the Waterloo Junior Achievement Careers-on-Wheels event. The students got to sit inside, and hear all about how we use these on our jobsites.
Woodruff's Waterloo office helped to donate a dozen first aid kits to help Friends of the Family, a community organization that provides services, safe shelter, and housing assistance to individuals in crisis as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and homelessness.
Nate Goetsch, Waterloo project manager, and his small group through the Cedar Valley Leadership Institute reached out to the organization to see how they could partner on a community service project. It was determined there was a need for family starter kits to be assembled and ready to provide clientele. The group was able to collect and donate several types of kits, including bathroom supplies, hygiene products, kitchen necessities, cleaning or laundry supplies, bedroom items, items for kids, and first aid, through the help of donations from local businesses.
Other group members who helped organize the donation were: Katelyn Jewell (Trinity Industries), Sylvia Hanson (Veridian Credit Union), David Nelson (Unity Point Health), Arienne Martinez – VGM Homelink), Brandon Moeller (John Deere), Katie Reicherts (Farmers State Bank), Cally Niess (INVISION Architecture), and Megan Droste (Cedar Falls Schools CAPS).
Some of our Waterloo staff assisted our childcare client move into their new space, now that renovations were complete.
As part of our holiday #ServiceToOthers, our Ames office partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Story County to adopt a family. We spent an afternoon shopping to fulfill the family's wish lists, and helped to make that Christmas morning a little extra special for everyone.
As part of our holiday #ServiceToOthers, our Spencer office partnered with The Spencer Reporter's Holiday Family Adoption Program. Thank you for helping make a couple families within your community have a more magical Christmas this year!
As part of our holiday #ServiceToOthers, our Fort Dodge region adopted a couple of women as part of the "Santa For Seniors" program and purchased items off their wish lists.
As part of our holiday #ServiceToOthers, our Tiffin office partnered with a local non-profit, Families Helping Families. These toys were gifted to children currently in or adopted from the foster care system, at their annual Winter Wonderland Holiday Celebration.
As part of our holiday #ServiceToOthers, our Waterloo office gathered donations for the local Lincoln Elementary "Warm Wishes" program, and were able to supply meals for 20 local families.
As part of our holiday #ServiceToOthers, our Waterloo office adopted a family from Amani Community Services for the holidays. They were able to provide and wrap some much-needed items from their Christmas list.
Woodruff took an old scoreboard from Ames High School, and together with Nelson Electric Company helped update the face for the Boys and Girls Club of Story County to use in their gym, replacing the outdated scoreboard they were using.
