Des Moines Animal Control

Woodruff Construction was the Prime Contractor for General Carpentry, Architectural Millwork, Windows and Siding, Tile, and Fluid Applied Flooring on this construction Manager as Advisor project. At nearly 22,000 SF, this contemporary building placed an aging and undersized facility on the east side of Des Moines. The exterior features a striking cedar wood siding, brick, metal, and glass facade, while the interior features durable and cleanable materials such as tile and fluid applied flooring. The new building is more than three times the size of the previous building, housing 76 dog kennels and 134 cat kennels. A portion of the facility houses kennels exclusively for pets that are available for adoption, while a different portion of the facility houses lost pets until they can be reunited with their families.
