Ground Transportation Center Renovation
When the original Ground Transportation Center was damaged in the floods of 2008, the City of Cedar Rapids was forced to use a remote location for multiple years. This project’s mission was to repair and update the original center to restore it to public use once again. The streetscape surrounding the facility was renovated with new paving, bus canopies, landscaping, site benches, and paver sidewalks and plazas. Another facet of this project included a small renovation of the nearby Montessori school, adding a new classroom, restroom, and front check-in area.
