Kirkwood Community College Linn County Regional Center

This project was a complete renovation of an existing 95,000 sf building and consisted of gutting 90% of the interior, leaving some existing walls and part of the HVAC system to be reused. The large space was divided into multiple areas functioning as instruction for industrial welding, woodworking, auto body repair, medical, IT, and general classes. Four classrooms were constructed with CMU and steel with concrete deck to provide a storm shelter for the building occupants. A new brick and aluminum storefront entrance was installed on the north face of the building for the main entrance. Exterior improvements included landscaping, additional paving, and application of new sealer to the existing asphalt parking lot.
