SELF-PERFORMED TRADES
Woodruff employs a strong, skilled workforce that self-performs many of the trades we oversee as general contractor or construction manager. This allows for tight control of the project schedule, consistent high-quality work, and lower costs for the project owner. We are proud of our in-house carpentry, concrete, and steel crews and the exceptional work they do every day on the job.
CARPENTRY
With our diverse crew of skilled carpenters, we have the experience, training, and professional knowledge to tackle almost any carpentry job you can throw at us.
Our crew is able to install exterior finishes such as concrete plank siding, architectural metal panels and trim, and the many varieties of the Nichiha concrete board siding and architectural stone systems.
Our interior crews install a wide variety of different finish products ranging from wood trim, acoustical ceilings, vinyl base, architectural wall panels, and custom casework/countertop installation (including solid surface countertops and window sills) to specialty items such as custom architectural railing systems, wall protection, handrails, and restroom partitions. We excel at installing commercial doors, frames, and a wide range of door hardware and accessories.
CONCRETE
Our concrete crews are some of the most efficient, hardest working crews around. The concrete work we self-perform is mainly flatwork and cast-in-place walls.
Flatwork consists of interior floors, concrete paving, concrete sidewalks, and elevated decks. Our crews utilize laser screeds which allow us to achieve a high level of “floor flatness” (FF) and “floor levelness” (FL) to meet even the most exacting of flooring specifications.
The cast-in-place walls our crews pour are completed using Peri and/or Symons forms. These are patented wall-forming systems which allow for fast installation and tear-down times.
Woodruff owns all the necessary equipment to perform each facet of our concrete work including track skid loaders for grading, riding trowel machines for floor finishing, and cranes for cast-in-place wall construction.
STEEL
Our crews of certified welders are capable of performing almost any type of steel installation or fabrication. The diverse talents of our crews allow us to complete everything from small architectural portions of steel fabrications to the largest steel erection projects including precast structures.
A substantial portion of our steel work includes erecting red iron and precast steel structures. Our welding crew teams up with our own NCCCO-certified crane operators to get the job done quickly and efficiently.
We are experienced in precision equipment setting, associated process piping, and equipment-access mezzanine installation. We also install architectural steel handrails and guardrails to existing multi-story structural steel structures.
