Woodruff Construction, an employee-owned general contractor in Iowa, has agreed to acquire the assets of Midstates Builders, Inc., in Spencer, IA. The business opportunity fits into Woodruff’s plan to further expand into the North West portion of the state, and will create its fifth region. Scheduled for October 1, 2022, Midstates assets and their current employees will be merged as part of Woodruff Construction.
Craig Wampler, co-owner of Midstates Builders, joined Midstates Builders, Inc. as their Operations Manager in April of 2003, having brought nearly 20 years of commercial construction experience to the company. He became Vice President in May, 2005. He and his wife Kirsten purchased the company outright, from the previous owners, in August of 2007.
For the past 15 years, Midstates has enjoyed working for and being a part of the Spencer community.
They have supported numerous non-profit organizations with time or financial gifts over the years. Craig and Kirsten placed a great deal of importance on honesty and loyalty, whether to a client, business associate or employee. Woodruff is excited to continue to foster relationships with the architects, subcontractors, vendors, and local organizations in the Spencer area, while supporting the surrounding communities.
Due to significant health concerns diagnosed earlier this year, several confidential inquiries were made with the objective to align Midstates with an organization demonstrating similar business practices as well as values supporting their staff and the communities they serve. Woodruff Construction checked every box.
Since its start in 1956, Woodruff has been growing and building on its tradition of hard work and exceptional construction, and became 100% employee-owned in late 2020. Woodruff maintains four additional offices across Iowa: Fort Dodge, Ames, Iowa City, and Waterloo. Providing our clients an Extraordinary Enjoyable Experience™.
